Dr. Stan Haimes is a physician with 30 years of experience who is board certified in Occupational Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. After completing his residency training at Johns Hopkins, he was a Medical Officer for the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the medical director for Lockheed Martin, had a private practice in Occupational Medicine, and academic practices at both the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida. He is a member of national groups that develop medical criteria for employment as law enforcement officers and firefighters, and determine safe exposure limits for substances in the workplace. He also serves as a member of a Scientific Review Panel for the National Institutes of Health.

If you are scheduled with one of our Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, who is licensed to practice autonomously, please know that the board of nursing has the authority to grant APRNs to practice autonomously under Section 464.0123 if the applicant demonstrates that they:

  • Hold a Clear, Active, Florida APRN License

  • Must not have been subject to disciplinary action as specified in s. 456.072, F.S. or s. 464.018, F.S., or any similar disciplinary action in any state or jurisdiction within the past five years.

  • Have completed at least 3000 clinical hours under the supervision of an allopathic or osteopathic physician within the past 5 years. These hours may include clinical instructional hours. See 464.123(1)(c), F.S. for complete requirements.

  • Submit proof of three graduate-level semester hours (or the equivalent) in differential diagnosis, and three graduate-level semester hours (or the equivalent) in pharmacology completed within the last five years.

  • When engaging in autonomous practice, an APRN must provide information in writing to a new patient about their qualifications and the nature of autonomous practice before or during the initial patient encounter.
